Gone Fishing Theme Activities, Centers, Crafts, No-prep worksheets for Preschool
This "Gone Fishing Theme" pack is one of my son's favorites! His love for fish and visiting the lake are what inspired this pack. I especially like that I can add paperclips and magnet fish for numbers and letters! So much fun! He also liked the books that I have suggested for this unit. Here's what's all included:
•Folder/Binder Cover pages (boy, girl, both)
•Theme board pictures: Pictures you can use for a theme board or stick puppets. I like to put them up at the start of a new unit and have my little guess what we are going to be learning about!
•Centers Boards: Numbers and cards to use in a pocket chart to rotate centers.
•Fish Calendar Numbers 1-31: Numbers are great for a calendar. This is a great way to sneak in some conversations about counting during calendar time.
•Question of the Day: Post the question of the day in a pocket chart, bulletin board, or poster in the same place every morning for students to respond Yes or No. This is a great activity to kick off circle time! *Tip: Laminate the yes/no on colored paper, Red or Green to last for other units!
•Number Printables: Trace, draw, cut and paste (1-10)
•Number Flip Book: Cut on the outside large rectangle, cut the dotted lines, then fold along the middle to create a flip book. Count and paste the correct number of fish inside each flap.
•Scavenger Hunt: Count the fishing objects
•Scavenger Hunt Graph: Graph the objects you counted. I would print this page and the previous front/back as they go together.
•Count and Color 2 pages, 1-5 and 6-10:Count and color the items to match the number.
• Match number to the correct 10 frame center:(Variations: memory, matching, or fishing with paperclip and magnet.

•Sight word emergent reader: use the code to color the sight words in the book
•Number matching picture puzzles: Use the clues to match the pictures and complete each puzzle. A glue guide mat is included with each puzzle.
•Upper/lowercase matching picture puzzles
•Use shapes and shape mat to build a fish
•Decorate a fish with crayons, sequins, or elbow macaroni
•Goldfish crackers sorting mat
•STEM Make it! tips, planning sheet, 4 task cards
•Fish Hunt Game: Place the fish around the room. Students hunt for the fish and place them in the matching pond. Or, use as a color sorting center.
•Paper Puppets: Print the puppets on cardstock for sturdy puppets. Students can color, cut, fold, and play! These are great for retelling stories or creating a puppet theater show.
•Brag Bracelets: Here’s a great way to encourage little ones for good behavior, and keep parents in the loop! A checklist to keep track is included. *Tip: use tallies to keep track if using brag bracelets from my other units!
