This is a verb activity I use with my students after reading Good Boy, Fergus by David Shannon.
First, we review verbs and I remind students to look for/listen to verbs during the story.
Then we make an anchor chart of the verbs we saw and heard while reading (these can come from both the words and the illustrations).
Finally, students choose their own to use in a sentence and illustrate! We have a lot of fun with this and it is great practice in recognizing those action words.
