This activity is a great way to teach or reinforce appropriate, and inappropriate behaviors, and it provides an opportunity to talk about why these behaviors are expected. How they keep everyone safe & happy and helps them learn, which is perfect for their Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and helps with Classroom Management. Just print, cut cards apart, and laminate them to make them more durable. This set includes the following picture cards for sorting:
Good Choices - Be kind, Clean up, Hands and feet to self, listen to teacher, quiet, Raise your hand, sharing, walk in a straight line, work hard, help friends, take care of friends, play nicely, pay attention, be prepared, work together.
Sad Choices— Bullying, Hitting, running, yelling, teasing, messing around and inappropriate times, kicking, not working, pushing, throwing a tantrum, pinching, not listening, off task, ripping paper, scribbling on someone else’s paper.
Heading cards for the sorts are also provided. You can have kiddo sort these cards under Good Choices or Sad Choices (I included Poor Choices, and Bad Choices, if you prefer to use the language of one of those), or they can sort them under Respectful, Responsible, or Safe; or Not Safe Not Respectful, Not Responsible. You can also sort them under the 5 competencies of Social Emotional Learning.
This pairs perfectly with my How Will I Behave in School - Emergent Reader.
