Good Friend vs. Not A Friend Behaviors: A Social Skills Activity


Description
This socials skills activity is a great way to work on self-assessment of appropriate actions and behaviors. The activity uses thumbs up and thumbs down images to have children assess whether the presented behavior is a “good friend behavior” or a “not a friend behavior”. Here's what's included:
♦ 18 actions and 24 questions/comments cards for children to evaluate.
♦ 6 extra cards with blanks for you or the students to provide some additional examples of good friend or not a friend behaviors.
♦ Two posters provided to review the meaning of “good friend behaviors” and “not a friend behaviors”.
♦ 3 pages that include a character named Stuart. Stuart needs help determining ways to show that he is a good friend in twelve different situations. Three multiple choice options are included for each situation.
♦ 5 black and white worksheets with a scenario provided. The student is then asked to draw a good friend and a not a friend behavior below each of the scenarios.
♦ 1 worksheet where the student is asked to list 3 good friend behaviors they could use that day.
