This product contains one main story stretcher (a board game) for the popular children's book "Good Night, Gorilla" by Peggy Rathmann and several extension or variation ideas. For your convenience this printable also contains step-by-step directions, a supply list, as well as indicating which developmental domain(s) and skills will be focused on!
As you can guess this activity has a heavy math emphasis that targets numbers and quantities 1-10. Cards are numbered 1-5 but as you play you examine your total amount and discover how many more chips you need to total 10. Each chip contains images on one side and letters on the other which is a great way to incorporate literacy too!
This set focuses on letters:
(gorilla & giraffe)
(Joe - the zookeeper)
Which makes this a great set for those of you using a Letter of the Week Curriculum! It's also perfect for a Zoo theme!
The activities target all four of these areas:
(math-number recognition & counting)
(fine motor - moving pawns & chips)
* Language and Literacy
(following directions, identifying letters)
