Product Description

Students will write a one paragraph letter, saying goodbye to a book from any trimester or semester. When I do this activity, I do it at the end of every trimester. It can be done with a book read as a whole class or an independent reading book.

Students to write goodbye to the book, explain what the moral is, provide textual evidence for that moral, explain it and then conclude their letters. Students then draw a scene, image, or symbol depicting the moral at the very end of the letters.

The prompt also provides students with sentence frames and a template to begin a rough draft. I usually provide this to all students, and then encourage some to go beyond the template form.

Purchase comes with prompt and template/sentence frames for the students, which is two pages total.
