What educators are saying

This provided an excellent Daily Five activity for my students who were learning to stretch out the sounds in words at the beginning of grade 1.

Description

Have your students use Google Classroom independently with this activity on Google Slides! Each slide is "anchored" into place with only possible answers being able to be moved on the slide. You don't have to worry about your students messing up any part of the slide or clicking and changing anything that is part of the question.

For this activity, students practice creating short e CVC words. Each slide has a different CVC word represented by a picture. There is also an audio clip on each slide that says the word and sounds it out. The students drag the correct letters to the sound boxes to make the word. This activity has 20 practice slides. At the end of the activity, students can then "turn it in" to your Google Classroom for you to check on your own time. This Google Classroom has a directional video at the beginning for the kids. You can check that out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lnfcfmx96xM&feature=emb_logo

There is also an answer key for you on the last slide. You can print this out or simply put it on another computer screen next to you as you grade. Just be sure to delete it before assigning this to students!

**PLEASE NOTE: Some administration settings block sharing files with their student's drives, so the AUDIO CLIPS may not be accessible to some. There's nothing I can do about it, as this is a district issue. I have tried several things to try to work around it, but some districts block it completely. It may work if the students put it into "present" mode to listen to the clip and then exit to go back to "edit" mode to do the slide.

There are so many possibilities for this online resource! Independent practice, partner practice, small group practice, whole group practice, RTI practice...whatever you want to do! If you find that this assignment is too long, make it into a few assignments OR simply shorten it by deleting slides.

This product is great for distance/online learning and is compatible with Google Classroom. I've even had teachers tell me that they use it on their Zoom and Google Meets calls with their students!

Please note that this is a Google App, which means you must allow TPT access to your drive in order to get access to this product.
