Like all of our Google Classroom Interactive Reading Historical Snapshots, this activity includes a Google Forms Quiz that enables students to test out of each section! This key concept for social science lesson was designed to be a Google Digital Interactive Notebook Reading activity! Students read large, clear font paragraph chunks about the economic, political and social/cultural development of America in the West during expansion while annotating the text with easy-to-use tools located in the margin. In this skill-based, history literacy activity students:
✅ Identify the main idea in passages
✅ Identify words that are unfamiliar to define later
✅ Summarize in fun, creative ways and
✅ Highlight important information
✅ Outline the history key concepts after each passage
✅ Answer essential questions that relate history content learned to their own lives
✅ Search for content-rich Google images into insert into a fun iphone format
✅ Take a Google Forms Quiz that is divided by section. Students can re-read the section and retake the quiz upon teacher request!
✅ This also includes a short primary source reading for students to analyze
