Why use Google Classroom?
-Google Classroom is an excellent way to present a paperless classroom for students.
-Google Classroom works with all Google Apps including docs (similar to Microsoft Word), slides (similar to Microsoft PowerPoint), and sheets (similar to Microsoft Excel).
-Students can work in the same document together or individually depending on the teacher’s need.
How Do I Add A PowerPoint to Google Classroom?
-First, you will need to sign up with Google Classroom which is only available to classroom teachers. You may need to speak with your school system about this.
-Once you have signed into Google, click the Google Apps icon. This is usually located in the top right corner. As Google updates, this icon could move or change.
-Then click the Google Drive icon.
-You will need to upload the PowerPoint file by clicking New; File Upload. Once you find where you saved your file, click the file, then click “open”.
-Once the file has loaded, right click and choose Open With; Google Slides.
-The file is now a Google Slide file which can be assigned in Google Classroom.
When you assign it, change the setting that says “Student can view” to “Make a copy for each student”.
-This document is also provided in a PDF format for printing if that’s more practical. Students can recreate the slides on plain paper.
