Sick of traditional Literature Circles with roles and tons of teacher supervision? Try this Google Classroom Alternative!
Students will use the response journal to complete three different sections while reading the text:
Part A: Reflections - Students capture thoughts and analysis of the text during and after reading.
Part B: Pre Discussion Planning - Students use their reflections to gather thoughts and questions that they would like to discuss during the literature circle or book talk meeting.
Part C: Post Reflection Discussion - Students explain how their meetings went, what they did well, and what could go better in the future.
Students will be able to access their responses anytime they have access to a computer, making homework a breeze! Teachers can review the students' work as it in progress and correct or make suggestions before the actual meeting date! The response journal is completely editable and can be used for a wide variety of genres and grade levels.
