Product Description
Students work in Google Docs to create an interactive, linked calendar containing images to suit each month. I find the students really enjoy the fact that they are creating hyperlinks to make their calendars real live documents that they can quickly and efficiently navigate. They also enjoy stylizing the calendars to suit their own tastes.

Creating links is a snap so beginners of Google Docs can definitely thrive in this activity. I have attempted to make the instructions as detailed and explicit as possible so that newbies can follow along.

The instructions come in the form of an interactive .pdf complete with clickable navigation system and table of contents. This makes it easy for students to quickly get around the document and backtrack efficiently if they need to review anything. The beauty of Google Drive apps like Docs is they allow students to access their work anywhere they have an internet connection. Additionally, it offers students the ability to collaborate on work. Multiple students can work on the same document!

In this engaging activity students will work on the following skills:
• how to create a table
• merging table cells
• aligning information center
• changing the color of text and rows
• underlining text
• adding links to allow for navigation with the document
• downloading a Google Doc file as a .pdf file

This lesson is ideal for the 1:1 classroom!

Please feel free to contact me with questions or comments regarding this assignment! I hope that you find it useful and I look forward to hearing from you.

Included in this package:
- a .pdf teacher instruction file with plenty of screenshots and clear instructions.
- 3 sample answer files (.pdf format)
- a text file containing links to viewable versions of the sample answers in Google Docs format.

Tips:
- Take the time to do this activity yourself prior to presenting to the students so you are familiar with the steps.
- I would demo creating one month, creating the links, and downloading as a .pdf.
- In the instructions a big time saver for this assignment is copying and pasting a completed January (provided students are completely happy with the formatting) and changing the information / removing rows as needed for February. This is faster than repeating the steps to build a month from scratch as only the content needs to be changed and not all the formatting.
- Students can be given my sample answers to use for reference to fill in the dates.
