My students have the hardest time with apostrophes for some reason. I dread teaching apostrophes (and point of view) every. single. year.
I decided to try a hands on approach this year. I created a sort that students need to cut apart and rearrange according to different categories:
Able to be possessed
Not able to be possessed
Irregulars/ Already Plural
This activity worked remarkably well! It it VERY rare that I have students placing apostrophes on EVERY SINGLE WORD that ends in S or telling me that you can own an "Of" (like in the joys of music).
Happy apostrophe teaching!
This product includes the link to the activity on Google Drive as it is a DIGITAL product and completely paperless!
