This synonyms and antonyms activity is based on a Frederick Douglass biography rap song. This song explores his adult life, beginning with his escape from slavery, career as an abolitionist, and his involvement with the American Civil War. This activity has multiple-choice answers and targets content-vocabulary words from the song lyrics which are used as a reading passage.

This activity includes:

- the Google Form link for copying the activity to your Google Classroom account

- the song with subtitles embedded into the Google Form

- the song lyrics embedded into the Google Form

- self-grading quiz format with the answer key

- 6 multiple-choice, synonyms questions with the answer key

- 6 multiple-choice, antonyms questions with the answer key

- 1 short-response, writing activity where students will produce a synonym and antonym for any word of their choice from the song lyrics.

How to Use This in Google Classroom:

Use the link in the download to copy our Google Form to your Google Drive. Assign the Google Form to your students by sharing a link, sending an email, or using Google Classroom.
