• Move content, change the size and crop images

• Organize the site, drag the content to where you want it

• Upload video and images

• Change the theme and banner to modify the look of the website

• Create and name new pages

• Preview, share and publish the site

Screenshots are included with instruction bubbles to make it very easy to understand each step to creating the ultimate website. It also includes 2 activities, student exemplar and a rubric.

Google Sites is safe for students as you can set their websites to not appear in search results and to be only visible by members of your school district. However, in some cases you may need to have it unblocked for students by your computer site manager.

Use Google Sites in just about any classroom or course of instruction. Website development could be incorporated into a variety of courses to demonstrate knowledge of course content. Teachers may also wish to use Google Sites to create a school website for their classes or departments.

UPDATE: A lesson plan (PDF and Editable PowerPoint version) has been added to this resource.
