This is a Google Slides resource that asks procedural questions about equations. For example, does your equation have parenthesis? Students then click "yes" or "no" and are prompted on the next course of actions. Example problems and a video tutorial are included. One-step, two-step, multi-step, and two-sided equations are covered. Special cases such as no solution and infinite solutions are also covered.
You will download a PDF file that links you to the Google Slides Interactive Equations Flowchart. From there you can create a copy, edit slides, and share with your students.
To use the flowchart your students will click “present” in the top right corner of the Google Slides document, and the flow chart will guide them through solving their equation. I hope this resource makes your life a little easier and helps your students.
Extension activity- Student Personalized Flowcharts: Have your students “Make a copy…” of your flowchart. Then have them edit the text/prompts with questions and reminders they find helpful and examples they have solved.
