Catie the Rock Star is an Recorder game to help students practice reading notes and provide teachers an opportunity to assess students in the process. These recorder patterns include the notes B,A and G. Catie has a dream to be a rock star and has to make her way through the crowd, gathering enough stars to be able to perform with the band. As the students choose members of the audience they are given examples of musical patterns to practice. There are enough examples to have a whole class have at least one turn, giving your students opportunities to practice reading musical notes B,A, and G. This Google Slides game can be projected for a whole group to play or played on a tablet/computer/chromebook for individual or small group work. It is a great way to integrate technology into the classroom and differentiate instruction! This game is dedicated to my Rock Star niece Catie!
