Teaching kids about the government and how it works is often a dreary task...no MORE! In this highly engaging visual hands-on presentation kids build critical thinking skills and work at making their own meaning by using the See. Think, and Wonder routine developed by Harvard's Project Zero. A full description of the routine and my teacher tips for using it with intention is included in the slide notes. Engaging graphics ask kids to think deeply about government, it's purpose, and how people have changed their ideas about government over time. I also include descriptions and links to my Mock Congress Simulation and a Mock Trial. The presentation is a part of My Story series. I use a story based approach to teaching kids about history by asking them to create personal and reflective writing pieces as they study the application of history. Please check my store for other pieces in this bundle include assessments, and week-long writing projects. I am a Michigan based teacher, but my social studies products can be easily modified to meet the standards of other states.
