Going deeper into nonfiction texts is essential to student mastery of common core standards. Want ways to integrate social studies and science content into your nonfiction instruction, while differentiating for the needs of all learners? Look no further than these Gov. Nathan Deal differentiated reading passages and comprehension questions. In this product, there are three informational reading passages based on his job as governor of Georgia, and what the Georgia Standards say students should know and understand about the Executive Branch of Government and the position of governor . If your classroom is like mine, there are readers all over the spectrum, yet it is vital that all students understand these important concepts. I've created each passage on three different reading levels to make differentiation much easier. I've leveled each passage with its Lexile reading level. There are also three different sets of questions that are differentiated alongside the passages. These are written with third and fourth grade in mind. Lexiles are 850, 750, and 560. Instead of having the levels on the passages where students can see the numbers, I have decided to put a shape to designate which level it is in the top right-hand corner. They are also included in the product in this order.
A circle designates low (560).
A triangle designates mid (750).
A square designates high (850).
I am happy to accommodate if you need higher or lower, just ask in the Q & A.
