Here is a free sample of my Everyday Math pretest collection based on the latest Common Core Everyday Math edition. If you are looking for a way to assess your students' potential before teaching the next Everyday Math unit, then this might work for you!
In this file you will find:
--Unit 1 Pretest
--Unit 1 Checklist
The purpose of this pretest is to assess how students might do on each lesson in the math unit NOT necessarily the end of unit test. I tried to include both average and challenging type questions and at the end of each problem there is the corresponding math lesson in parenthesis. This might help with grouping students if you do guided math or to help identify which lessons might be challenging or too easy for your whole class.
The checklist shows objectives for each of the math lessons. Sometimes an advanced objective is also included. You can use this to record if your students are advanced, average, or below in each of the lessons. Again this might be a great visual to help you plan guided math groups or even for reporting grades.
Some pretests do not include something from every lesson in the unit. If the objective was an exploration lesson, for example, I left that out. Other lessons seemed to lend themselves to a whole group experience.
I hope this helps! If you enjoy this product then check out the full pack in my store. Thanks!
