Here is a proven time saver/organizational tool that will help you track the covered outcomes and give you a checklist of the indicators.
On my own personal journey last year, of teaching Grade 2 math for the first time in a long time, I got so tired of trying to look at the curriculum document and make sense of it either on line or from a printed copy. Once I transferred all the outcomes and indicators to these easy to follow charts, I found it so much more organized and was able to quickly look at the indicators that I had covered and ones I still needed to assess. I love the way I can just add the date that each indicator was successfully attained by my students and jot down notes on which assessment I used. Many of the indicators were grouped into one assessment and it is easy to add notes in the Memo column. As well, I could add notes about particular students who needed to be re-assessed and what areas needed to be re-visited at small group/Teacher Table time.
The outcomes are printed in colour for easy reference, a different colour for each section: Number (Red) , Patterns and Relations (Blue) , Shape and Space (Purple) , and Statistics and Probability (Orange).
