The “Probability” activity packet is designed to meet the curriculum expectations for the Ontario Grade 2 Mathematics curriculum. This packet has students:
- Describe probability as a measure of the likelihood that an event will occur using mathematical language;
- Describe the probability that an event will occur, through investigation with simple games and probability experiments and using mathematical language.
This packet includes lesson plans and worksheets as well as a mini-center and posters to help students understand probability and probability terms. This packet is designed to provide students with hands-on and engaging opportunities and activities that meet the above expectation. This packet includes both colour and black and white posters and mini-centre pieces. Please note that for the black and white set of items, you will need to colour in the parts of the posters and centre cards in order for them to make sense.
This packet would be great to use with high-flying Grade 1 students or students in Grade 3 who might need more support when it comes to probability. If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.
