This packet contains over 180 tasks that focus on the grade 3 fraction standards.
Students master fraction notation: the meaning of the numerator and the denominator. They use and create concrete pictures of fractions, and then relate fractions to a place on a number line. Students first learn to use, and then to draw models of fractions and equivalent fractions as parts of a whole shape, or as points on a number line.
These tasks can be used as teaching tools since there are two similar tasks on each page. the top task could be used for a mini-lesson and discussion, and the bottom task could be used for guided or independent practice.
The formats are based on formats used on the SBAC test.
These tasks are also a great review for fourth graders to help them review previously learned concepts.
