Students research facts about an urban or rural community of their choice and organize their findings into a template for a French brochure showcasing the community. In addition to highlighting key characteristics of their community in writing, students can create artwork on a title page to depict urban or rural aspects of their community. Alternatively, students may invent a community based on the knowledge they have gained during their studies.
This activity can be used as an assessment, based on criteria discussed with the class for each component of the brochure (for example, how many facts are to be included in each section).
Includes 4 pages: 2 pages for a template with French categories and 2 pages for a template without any labels (only divisions for the brochure and space about the author). Print a 2 page template on both sides and fold it in thirds to create a brochure.
Suitable for Grade 3 French Immersion.
