Weeks 1-9 of the 3rd grade National Reading Vocabulary are on these return address labels (80 to a sheet)
Print them and stick them on craft sticks for ALL KINDS of activities for the year.
Keep them in baggies or pencil pouches (like we do) for future years.
Trust me, if you print these out and have these ready weeks in advance, centers run oh so smoothly!
It helps the students develop reading fluency by practicing the words on the National Reading Vocabulary.
If you aren't familiar with the National Reading Vocabulary, it is well worth the time to take a look at using it in your classroom. The National Reading Vocabulary is a list of 800 plus words that a third grader needs to be able to read successfully. The research shows that students who can fluently read the words on this list will be reading at least a 4.0 reading level and typically score in the top 10% on standardized reading assessments.
