Product Description
This Grade 3 Social Studies teaching resource offers an in-depth coverage of all the indicators for the outcome RW3.1 – Appraise the ways communities meet their members needs and wants

Although it has been written to meet the outcome and indicators for the Saskatchewan Social Studies curriculum, it will meet the needs of educators teaching students about the ways in which communities meet the needs and wants of the people they serve. According to teachers in British Columbia, this resource also meets their curriculum standards for Grade 3 Social Studies

Lessons are presented in the order of the indicators:

a. Speculate upon various challenges faced by communities in meeting needs and wants, with evidence gathered from examining pictures, viewing media, and interpreting stories using a variety of fiction and non-fiction

b. Identify how individuals and communities meet needs and wants

c. Describe ways in which communities help ensure basic human needs are met (food and water, shelter, clothing, education, safety)

d. Describe how and why communities exchange goods with one another
