This is the first booklet I use with my Grade 4's throughout my Addition and Subtraction Unit. We follow the theme of Jurassic Park and name each booklet after a dinosaur, this one being T-Rex Making Ten! This is something that I have my students work on if they finish the main lesson’s activity early. It is something that makes those “early finisher” less work! My students know that when they are finished their math task, they are to work on their Jurassic Park. This allows them to have that rote practice but makes it a bit more fun!
-Activities reviewing concepts such as rounded to the nearest ten with 3-digit numbers
-Activities using the part-part-whole strategy
-Cut and paste with cute clipart
-Engaging games (involving hunting for numbers and rolling dice!)
-Reflection on the strategy
-Matching cards with recording sheet
Thank you and enjoy :)
