Looking for something that students can complete to review some of the math skills they have learned throughout the year? The " Grade 4 Math Skills Review Packet" is aligned with the Ontario Grade 4 curriculum expectations for Mathematics. This skills review packet includes at least one activity worksheet for each specific expectation within each of the five strands of the curriculum. The five strands covered are:
- Number Sense and Numeration;
- Geometry and Spatial Sense;
- Patterning and Algebra;
- Data Management and Probability;
For example, within this packet students will review interpreting double-bar graphs, creating stem-and-leaf plots, representing, comparing and ordering numbers to 10000, printing in words numbers to 1000, writing numbers in standard and expanded form, adding/subtracting numbers four-digit numbers, multiplying two-digit by one-digit numbers, calculating the area and perimeter of two-dimensional shapes, identifying and exploring the relationship between multiplication and division, sorting two-dimensional shapes using student created sorting rules, and so much more!
Please note that there might be a few expectations that are not covered in this packet because they require students to use concrete materials and this activity packet focuses on review worksheets or tasks that can be done using paper and pencil activities.
This packet is a wonderful resource to use at the beginning of a year (such as in Grade 5) or at the end of the year to review the key math skills students have learned for each of the five strands of the mathematics curriculum.
