The Grade 4 Reading and English Language Arts Class Dailies pack includes 32 weeks of English and reading skills review. Each day students will complete one short activity to review or introduce a skill, such as writing conventions,
grammar, reading skills, and more. (See a more complete list below.) I have
personally used these the last few years within my Reading & English Language Arts class as a lesson opener and can tell that the review has helped my students a great deal with retaining skills, vocabulary, etc.
These were specifically designed for the Virginia Grade 4 English Standards of Learning, but can also work with Common Core and TEKS. You will notice that the focus near the end of the year becomes progressively more centered on reading skills, and that was intentional to help prepare my kiddos for the rigorous state reading test.
Topics Covered Include:
Parts of speech
Alphabetical Order & Guide Words
Synonyms, Antonyms, & Homophones
Inferences and Conclusions
Cause & Effect
Fact & Opinion
Comparing and Contrasting
VIRGINIA ENGLISH SOLS: 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.8; 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.8

Simply print the sheets as needed throughout the year and make copies for each student. Go over the daily task each day and have a mini-lesson/quick review session so students understand and it will be logged into their long-term memory banks.
These can also be used in Intervention groups.
