Grade 4 Writing Posters

15 posters in either 8-1/2 x 11 or 11x17 and 1 bookmark

These posters are great reminders for teachers and students of the various aspects of writing in the Common Core.

All posters are based in Common Core expectations from level 3 of the writing rubrics, some have original language from the rubric and some have been shortened slightly.

All three writing types are covered: Narrative, Opinion, and Informative, as well as general writing expectations.

3 Editing and Revision posters are included: Editing is Fun which shows how editing is done and what it looks like, C.U.P.S. (Capitalization, Usage, Punctuation, Spelling) posters for editing guides, and A.R.M.S. (Add, Remove, Move, Substitute) poster for revision rules.

There is also a 2-page poster illustrating cues, sequences and transition words with pictures to help students understand the many options available for description and what they mean and how they relate to each other.

Teacher Writing Posters

These posters are helpful for teachers in teaching writing in general.
Included are two posters:

The Gradual Release of Responsibility Model of teaching
This is the model that was developed by Pearson and Gallagher (1983).
The model was then applied to key aspects of a comprehensive literacy program by Ritterskamp and Singleton (2001).
The graphic use here was developed by Charlotte Knox of Knox Education. www.knoxeducation.com.

The Writing Process
Also designed by Charlotte Knox of Knox Education and incorporating the icons from the Gradual Release of Responsibility Model.
