Students will read an informational text titled Coyotes which gives various facts about the animal in an article-like manner.
The informational text is followed by a series of multiple choice questions aligned with various strands of the CCSS Grade5 English Language Arts Standards for Reading.
Those strands are:
RI.5.1 Quote accurately from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
RI.5.2 Determine two or more main ideas of a text and explain how they are supported by key details; summarize the text.
RF.5.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
