The “Human Organ Systems” activity packet is designed to meet the curriculum expectations for the Ontario Grade 5 Science curriculum. This packet takes students on a journey through five human organ systems in an interactive and engaging way. The organ systems that are explored in this packet are: the respiratory system, the nervous system, the digestive system, the circulatory system and the musculoskeletal system. This packet is designed to supplement your lessons on human organ systems or the human body.
This packet includes plenty of readings, worksheets, posters, discussion cubes and four assignments as well as a trading card activity that can be used to teach students about the human organ systems and the organs that belong to each of the systems. This packet also has students explore what could go wrong with each organ system as well as the impact, both positive and negative, that the environment, society and technology has on human organ systems. This packet ties in nicely with a unit about healthy eating and living and there are a few worksheets in this packet that get students thinking about what it means to be healthy.
