activity packet. This activity packet is designed to meet the expectations outlined in the Ontario 2015 Revised Health and Physical Education curriculum document. With this unit, students are introduced to what supports are available for injuries and emergencies as well as for bullying and violence. Students explore how to appropriately handle threats to personal safety, while also identifying what some examples are of threats to personal safety. The final aspect of this unit that is explored by students are the impact that actions can have on the self as well as others. Students also explore what self-concept is.
What specific expectations are addressed in this unit?
The specific expectations that this activity packet addresses are as follows:
- Identify people and supportive services that can assist with injury prevention, emergencies, bullying and abusive and violent situations;
- Demonstrate the ability to deal with threatening situations by applying appropriate living skills and safety strategies;
- Explain how a person’s actions, either in person or online, can affect their own and others’ feelings, self-concept, emotional well-being, and reputation;

What readings and activities are included in this packet?
This packet contains 50 activities and 2 readings. Instead of giving students readings to complete and having them complete activities based on the readings, students are asked to research their own information to identify concepts and knowledge related to bullying, cyberbullying, conflict, threatening situations and emergencies.
What assessments are included in this packet?
A final assignment is included in this packet along with 7 rubrics and a reflection journal. Students are asked to show their knowledge and understanding in different ways throughout the unit, so there is also no unit test.
