We all know our students could use practice listening!
The Common Core certainly believes this to be necessary. Common core standardized tests such as Smarter Balanced specifically require students to listen to spoken passages and demonstrate their ability to comprehend, interpret and apply information derived from spoken text.
Students are provided with space to take notes while they listen. After listening to an informative article about the Amazon River, its environs and denizens, students answer a variety of multiple choice questions about the article they listened to and fill in a graphic organizer based on information from the text.
Please note this product does not include an audio recording of the story. The teacher will need to read the text aloud to complete this assessment.
