Each of these 8 reading comprehension activities includes 5 questions for students to answer based on building vocabulary and developing emotional awareness. They are suitable for upper primary and can be used with children from ages 8 to 12, depending on ability level - see the preview if unsure.

The need for stillness is becoming greater in our modern world. These stories were originally designed as meditation stories to create stillness for children, and to enable them to take some time to relax, to imagine, and to develop a sense of wonder. The stories have been filled with colour, with texture, with sound, with smell, and with taste. They are rich with descriptive words and ideas that children can draw on in their writing. Most importantly, they have been filled with self-affirming and life-affirming messages to build children’s sense of self-worth and value.

Each of these reading comprehension worksheets can be accessed as single worksheets from my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
