Dr. Dea's Sixth-grade Common Core/PARCC aligned writing rubrics provide tools for teachers and students: a one page self-evaluation checklist for the student and a one-page evaluation rubric for the teacher. The documents are aligned to the Common Core Writing Standards and PARCC's most recent updates to its scale scoring for this school year (2015-2016). Dr. Dea's rubric is a framework for evaluating analytic (argument & informative) and narrative writing. Using PARCC's expanded rubric form, Dr. Dea's rubric delineates Common Core descriptors among five criteria categories: Reading Comprehension, Writing Development, Writing Organization, Clarity of Language, and Language Conventions. Additionally, Dr. Dea's rubric embeds Common Core grade-level language standards specifying grammar and conventions expectations.
