Dr. Dea's Grade Seven Common Core Writing Rubrics provide a tool for teachers and students: a one page self-evaluation checklist for the student and a one-page evaluation rubric for the teacher. The rubrics are aligned to the Common Core Writing Standards and PARCC's most recent updates to the scaled scoring (2015). Dr. Dea's rubric is a framework for evaluating analytic (argument & informative) and narrative writing.
The rubrics delineate Common Core descriptors among PARCC's initial five criteria categories: Reading Comprehension, Writing Development, Writing Organization, Clarity of Language, and Language Conventions. Additionally, Dr. Dea's rubric embeds Common Core grade-level language standards specifying grammar and conventions expectations.
