We all know our students could use practice listening!
The Common Core certainly believes this to be necessary. Common core standardized tests such as Smarter Balanced specifically require students to listen to spoken passages and demonstrate their ability to comprehend, interpret and apply information derived from spoken text.
This bundle contains six texts that students can practice their listening skills on. Students are provided with space to take notes while they listen. Then they answer a variety of multiple choice questions about the passages they listened to and answer an essay question.
The texts included are:
1. All About Jefferson (literature)
2. Surveillance Cameras: Soldiers of Safety or Privacy Invaders? (informational text)
3. Lazy Days of Summer (literature)
4. Shakespeare: Man and Myth (informational text)
5. An Emergency Landing (literature)
6. The Earliest Timepieces (informational text)
Please note this product does not include an audio recording of the texts. The teacher will need to read them aloud to complete these assessments.
