YAY for resources aligned with the Ontario Curriculum!!!
I have created "I Can" statements (otherwise known as success criteria) to post in your grade 8 math classroom, depending on the particular strand being taught - many schools in Ontario are expecting their teachers to post learning goals and success criteria daily - the work is done for you!
To get the most out of this product, I suggest printing each page out, laminating, punching two holes at the top of each paper, and using two "rings" to flip from statement to statement, depending on what you're teaching that day - hang the product on hooks in your classroom, that are attached to your board. Put a clothes pin on the expectation being focused on.
This product would also make a great bulletin board! Designate a bulletin board space in your classroom for strictly math - change it up from unit to unit.
The "I Can" statements have been colour-coded, depending on the strand, to add an organizational component - the colours are as follows:
BLUE - Number Sense & Numeration
ORANGE - Measurement
GREEN - Geometry & Spatial Sense
PINK - Patterning & Algebra
YELLOW - Data Management & Probability
**Black and white options have also been added, for the astrobright lovers out there!**
The "I Can" statements are in the exact order as the Ontario Curriculum, making it easy to follow along for planning.
"I Can" statements for grade 4-7 are also available:
"I Can" Grade 4
"I Can" Grade 5
"I Can" Grade 6
"I Can" Grade 7
