Goal-setting is an important aspect in the classroom and everyday life. It works well to have middle school students complete a grade contract to reinforce the idea that they will be graded and they have control over the work they do. In addition to deciding what grade they want to earn, the students will write out 3 ways they’ll be able to meet their goals. It’s nice to have the students complete these forms after covering classroom rules and expectations because it helps with classroom management. The students will sign and date their contracts to make them feel more official.
There are 6 contracts per page to help save paper.
Handing these back on the last day of class helps students see if they met their goals and if they followed their contracts.
