Product Description

Bestseller featured in the TpT Newsletter!! This set of 4 editable printable scavenger hunts with lesson plans is designed for use with World Book Online (TM), but can be used with other online or print resources.

One scavenger hunt can be used for each grade level (3rd, 4th, and 5th) or they can be combined to implement differentiated instruction. All materials in this product are editable Microsoft Word .docx file formats.

The 3rd grade "Investigating Encyclopedias" unit takes 2-3 class periods; the 4th grade scavenger hunt usually takes 2 periods; the 5th grade "Super Challenger" takes 1-2 class periods. Some bonus questions are included as well.

♦ 3rd Grade - 10 questions, 20 points

♦ 4th Grade - 8 questions + a bonus, 20 points

♦ 5th Grade - 5 questions + a bonus, 10 points

Also, a blank template is included for a 5-question scavenger hunt for students to choose their own topic based on their interests or a theme, write their own teacher-approved questions, and then answer them. This template is designed for older elementary students, and the lesson plan is included in the 5th grade section. If you use this version of the scavenger hunt, the unit usually takes an extra day to two.

The editable lesson plans are included in Microsoft Word .docx fil format. They include National and PA Common Core ELA Standards, PA Academic Standards, and AASL Information Literacy Standards.

Access to computers (at least one per pair of students) is ideal, though a set of print encyclopedias could potentially be used as well. If you have access to tablets or mobile devices, you may want to try the Grades 3, 4, and, 5 QR Code Scavenger Hunts & Lesson Plans instead.
