Product Description
This set of 4 editable, printable scavenger hunts has questions that are displayed when a QR code is scanned. The scavenger hunts and lesson plans are designed for use with World Book Online (TM), but can be used with other digital or print research sources.

One scavenger hunt can be used for each grade level (3rd, 4th, and 5th) or they can be combined to implement differentiated instruction. All materials in this product are editable Microsoft Word .docx file formats.

The 3rd grade "Investigating Encyclopedias" unit takes 2-3 class periods; the 4th grade scavenger hunt usually takes 2 periods; the 5th grade "Super Challenger" takes 1-2 class periods. Some bonus questions are included as well.
♦ 3rd Grade - 10 QR code questions, 20 points
♦ 4th Grade - 8 QR code questions + a bonus, 20 points
♦ 5th Grade - 5 QR code questions + a bonus, 10 points

Also, a blank template is included for a 5-question scavenger hunt for students to choose their own topic based on their interests or a theme and write their own teacher-approved questions, in addition to answering them. This template is designed for older elementary students, and the lesson plan is included in the 5th grade section. Obviously, the blank template is NOT a QR code scavenger hut, however, it does allow more freedom to customize each students' learning to their interests. If you use this version of the scavenger hunt, the unit usually takes an extra day to two.

The editable lesson plans are included in Microsoft Word .docx fil format. They include National and PA Common Core ELA Standards, PA Academic Standards, and AASL Information Literacy Standards.

PLEASE NOTE: Access to tablets or other mobile devices with a QR reader app is REQUIRED to use this product! If you do not have access to mobile devices, I recommend my text-based, printable Grades 3, 4, and 5 Encyclopedia Scavenger Hunts product, which has the same questions and no need for mobile devices.
