The ZIP file consists of a very DETAILED lesson plan with materials listed, central focus, objectives of the lesson, standards in NY and Ontario, assessment plan, the minds on, action and consolidation components of the lesson, worksheets, handouts, a Power Point Presentation and scripted teacher notes. A section on how this lesson is culturally responsive is in the lesson plan along with academic language it targets and accommodations! The lesson requires NO PREP!
The lesson will begin with students divided into groups each receiving envelopes of puzzles where they match definitions of solutes and solvents. It's followed by a fun case study! There is a fill in the blank handout, a chart of listed items where students decide if the item listed is a solvent or solute. The teacher does a demonstration using crystal light. This is followed by a lab completed by students and an exit card! The lesson is packed with activities! It's interactive and engaging. Enjoy :)
