This is a Journal that students will put together and use weekly for a whole Trimester- I personally use it in my advisory class, it is a 13-week journal, and the first edition I have created. I will be creating more if the desire is there.
This journal includes a weekly page to write down their grades, calculate their GPA, and create a list of missing assignments and things they need to do that week. The backside of that page is for the end of the week and it has a section for students to write things they are grateful for, evaluate their mental health, and answer socio-emotional questions, take socio-emotional quizzes, or encourages research on socio-emotional learning topics. This is to help set up a discussion at the end of the week during a classroom circle for restorative practices.
Mandalas are on each page so students have a de-stressing activity to work on in the event that they finish early, or just need some quiet time to focus on something. This promotes tranquility inside the classroom.
This journal also includes introduction questions that students answer prior to beginning the journal and answer the same/similar questions at the end and see what they have learned over the last trimester.
This journal guides students through a proactive self-reflection process. The end-all goal of this journal is for students to feel like they accomplished something and can see the proof in front of their eyes!
