I use this grading sheet for book clubs. When students are meeting, I go around and check off their jobs in their groups. Doing this in front of their group members may seem insensitive, but as long as all students understand they have the ability to regain any missed credit by meeting with me later on to fix errors or misunderstandings, it actually serves as a very effective motivator for students to be accountable to their peers. For the 'social interaction' component, I explain that all students start with full credit and that any talking to other groups or off task behavior results in loss of credit for that day. This makes for a very efficient way to give near immediate feedback to students and parents in the gradebook.
