The download will create an environment in which your students can practice using past tense verbs while having fun.

Of the 30 pages in this download: 22 pages are of verb cards, 2 pages of game cards, a directions page, word list page and a page for credits. The verb cards are 4 to a page making cutting the card an easy task. Each card has the verb depicted in action with the sentence using the verb in the present tense written below.

This activity targets both regular and irregular verbs. There are 56 regular verbs and 32 irregular verbs so you have a plenty of verbs to select from when choosing for your individual student needs.

Verbs included: bark, bath, bounce, bowl, brush, buzz, cary, chase, clap, climb, cook, crash, cry, dance, drip, fetch, fish, hatch, hop, hug, hurry, lick, lift, kiss, laugh, jump, kick, paddle, paint, pat, peep, play, point, push, pull, rain, howl, roar, scratch, shiver, shop, show, skate, slip, slither, spell, stir, stop, surf, tough, tug, unlock, walk, wave, whisper, bend, blow, bring, catch, cut, dig, dive, draw, drink, drive, eat, fall, feel, fly, hide, hit, hold, leap light, run, ride, read, ring, sat, sing, sleep, stole, sweep, swim, think, throw, and won.

Game play is simple the student will draw a card from the draw pile and read the sentence (tell about the pictured verb for nonreaders). They will then show everyone the picture and pass it face down to the next player while asking, :What did he do?” The player receiving the card must respond using the past tense. If he does so correctly, he keeps the card. Of he does not the player that asks gets the card. There are chameleon cards shuffled in the deck that will change direction of game play. This is to keep interest high and everyone engaged, because you don’t know who will be next in play.
