I am very excited about this grammar book. I designed it to match exactly what I feel is needed in the classroom for comprehensive instruction, which is: notes and teacher-led discussion, more than 1 practice with each new skill, follow-up or review lessons for students who may not understand the first time around, and additional practice in the form of games and online interactive quizzes. The pages have also been designed for easy print out for students with special needs, 504s, etc., that may require a copy of the notes. They are also color coded for easy viewing on an overhead. Answer keys for all practice items are included.
I have included everything a typical middle school student needs to know before heading off to high school and then some. I’ve also begun the book with a focus on the parts of speech. Far too often, students come into middle school not knowing the parts of speech and what their function is in a sentence. Reviewing the parts of speech sets the stage for learning and gives you a clear indication of where your students are starting.
I’ve included links to on-line instructional videos from other teachers as part of the review section. Please note, that the majority of the videos are links from You Tube. While I watched through the videos and am familiar with most of the instructors that I included, please take some time to view all videos before sharing with your students, as videos are constantly updated, and sometimes, content that we weren’t expecting can find its way onto the content.
While I designed this book to follow a particular order, you may jump around to any lesson you need as you see fit.
