Quick & Easy
Get your grammar fitness on with these quick and easy Grammar Workouts. Get your kids "Grammar Fit" by using these Sets (workout sets) daily/weekly in a variety of ways.
There are 4 SETS (A-D) in a week. Each set has four days of skills and then an assessment (Fit-Tests). You can break them up and use them anyway you like.
These quick grammar "workouts" and assessments are fun for students and offer an excellent way to quickly assess your students' grammar fitness:)
The sets are spiraled so that students are constantly practicing and reviewing the same skills while learning new ones. Each assessment offers a variety of questions on various skills. In Grammar Workouts 1, students will practice basic grammar and sentence structure including nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, subjects, predicates, prepositional phrases, affirmative/declarative, negative, and interrogative sentence types.
Here are a few ways in which these sets can be used:
1.Teachers may give prompts ahead of time to guide the types of vocabulary and sentences desired before beginning each set.
2. Only give 4 from each set each day. On Friday assess all 16 with a completely new SET.
3. Only do the evens.
4. Only do the odds.
5. Timed Assessment
6. Scavenger Hunt...find out who can help them fill their squares the fastest.
7. Create questions based on the prompts within each set.
