This Grammar Guru packet is a one-week, kid-friendly grammar unit. This unit focuses on using commas to separate appositives, nouns of direct address, and interrupters.
During this grammar week, students will learn that an appositive is a noun or phrase that explains the meaning of the noun in front of it. Students will also learn how to separate names, or non-specific names, spoken aloud from the rest of the sentence. In addition, students will learn that a parenthetical expression is an interrupter. An interrupter is added to a sentence to bring emphasis to the words spoken.
Included in this packet:
*One-page grammar instruction
*Three pages of grammar practice (which includes eight tiered activities)
*Two-page grammar review
*Two-page grammar quiz
