With time changing, grammar seems to be going by the waist side. No! No! No! It cannot, and I am sure you agree with me.
Understanding and mastering grammar creates amazing readers and writers. If our students do not know the parts of a sentence, how can we expect them to write a well-written, coherent one?
In this product, I have set up a program in which the students will go through the ranks of the military and are awarded rank/s as they master grammatical terms, parts of speech and other important elements.
Each product focuses on ONE term/part of speech. This product focuses on NOUNS-Common, Collective, Proper, Abstract & Uncountable Nouns. I wanted to start simple and scaffold the students to harder and more difficult terms/parts of speech. The next product to scaffold NOUNS is ADJECTIVES.
The program is set up in the following way:
Benchmark Boot Camp-What do your students know about the term/element/part of speech?
“Resilient” Reference Sheets-A thorough reference sheet for your students to review and place in their binder or notebook.
“Powerful” Practice Worksheets-Timed/Untimed-Part of mastering a skill is being able to identify terms/examples/items in a timed manner. Included here are both timed and untimed practice worksheets.
Timed Tests for Rank-Students have to identify the types of NOUNS in a timed fashion. There are five timed tests.
A Rank Ladder- I will teach you how to print this in a larger scale, so you can enlarge the ladder, print, laminate, and hang it in your classroom. I have an engaging way to keep track of your students and what rank they currently have.
Shirt Template for Students-For their rank stickers
Cover for Your Students’ Binders/Folders/Notebook
Certificates-Send Home to Parents
“Barracks” Bingo Game for Practice and Fun
