Product Description
Do your students need help to proofread and edit their work? Do they need help learning grammar rules and/or applying them in writing to make visibly different drafts over time?

Use this multi-step project to engage all students at their levels and help them improve as editors.

The project works like this:
1. Students identify at least one grammar topic of weakness/concern and make a plan to learn those rules once and for all
2. Students follow their plans and complete action steps to learn independently
3. Students choose a piece of writing (past or present) to edit, applying those newly-acquired concepts to make visible changes to their draft
4. Students choose from a menu of creative and instructional options to take their learning into long-term memory and confirm their learning
5. Teachers use the provided rubric to assess all parts of the project in one at-a-glance view

Use this project once in a school year, or repeat it if desired! The project is four pages of ready-to-print pages that come in both PDF and editable Word docs.

Using CCSS? This project works great for W.5 (using strategies to edit and revise)!
